TimeLapse Digital Technology
The innovations of TimeLapse Digital are two-fold. By harnessing
the developments in digital still technology and the advances in
servo motors and battery cells, TLD has been able to develop
a system for capturing motion control time-lapse that rivals traditional
film systems.
High resolution digital SLR cameras with their quality, convenience
and cost savings are replacing traditional 35mm film cameras in
most aspects of the photography business. TimeLapse Digital has
taken these advances and transposed them onto the film and television
industry in the field of timelapse photography. Digital still cameras
currently are not able to shoot at 24 frames per second and thus
replace traditional movie cameras, however, they are ideal for capturing
time-lapse footage. The amazing quality of the images along with
the cost savings of digital allow TLD to produce imagery
that is both dazzling and cost effective.
TimeLapse Digital's other innovation is the development of a compact
camera head coupled with very precise servo motor technology, and
new lightweight battery cells to produce a unique system that is
highly portable and quick to set-up. With control of Pan, Tilt,
Zoom and Focus, this unique system allows us to easily capture sequences
that use to be reserved for only the biggest budget productions.
The core of the system is our proprietary software. This combined
with a Nikon Digital Camera and a custom-built positioning array
allows us to shoot exactly the same scene at different times. Compositing
the footage in post-production editing software further opens up
a world of possibilities. Fade from day to night or winter to summer;
superimpose them; whatever you want to do.
